My name is and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am actively looking for work in the Calgary area. My job search is very active right now. I feel I can accomplish more exposure this way to my job related talents then through traditional means. If you have a career or a job for me that would be super. I have lived in Calgary for almost two years now and have held a few great jobs. One company from Calgary that is not in business actively anymore employed me to work with Linux related technologies in Calgary and the surrounding areas like Red Deer. I was able to expand my job related skills in this position. Unfortunately they ended up paying me $12.00 per hour to chat on the phone and try and sell computers as part of my job description and that just was too much of a change in job related duties plus they wanted to cut my salary and sign a non-disclosure agreement so they had to let me go. Prior to that I worked at Core Lab Calgary in the Oil and Gas sector. My main duties for the Calgary location were to slab Tar Sands Drilling Rig Core. I stayed employed with them for two months until I found the previously mentioned job. I had to take it because it was right beside CDI College North Campus Calgary and it paid better.
I pursued my studies at CDI College amidst great personal challenges and difficulties. I finished two months early with my Diploma for a Programmer Analyst Internet Solutions Developer. I have had an active job search ever since in and around the Calgary area not to mention globally. Core Lab Calgary picked me up again in January of this year and I maintained employment with them until October of this year. During my term with Core Lab Calgary I saw my duties expand from a Junior Core Technician to a Junior Lab Technician dealing primarily with Particle Sand Analysis on a big project from Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL). Since becoming unemployed I have held an active job search in the Calgary area with poor results. Weyerhaeuser Calgary was all staffed up so I couldn't go back to that job. Besides I don't want to have a normal job. Everyone at Core Lab Calgary said I should be in a room full of programmers or software developers having coffee with them and not making their eyes glaze over because they just didn't understand a thing I was talking about. I keep visualizing what I want and I'm going to get it with some more planning, but I don't think I'm cut out for cooking or washing dishes although I have done it in the past. |
